When making models I made the experience, that there is a very limited choice of ropes in the market. The darkbrown ones for fixed rope is traded to my knowledge by two firms only and their choice is also limited in size. The left twist isn,t available at all. I personally use home made ropes for my models. During the past years I have achieved such a level, that I can produce continouse ropes in length of 20 m. Such a quantity of one size is enough for preparing the rope for the shipmodels. Of course it depends from the scale relation.

The ropes in above mentioned sizes I make in dark brown /fixed rope/ and hemp coloured /running rope/.
Further you can order ropes right twisted /Z/ and left twisted /S/ in any size. It,s generally known, that it was used for the right side fixed ropes left twisted and for the left side right twisted ropes.
It,s available rope in size thicker than 13/3 as well.
The colour, and type of twisting doesn,t influence the price.
According to my opinion by the choice of above sizes the ropes of the shipmodel can be made more realistic.
